Abstrakt

Denne studien fokuserer på hvordan ERP-implementering i en kunnskapsintensiv bedrift blir
gjennomført, og identifiserer kritiske elementer i denne prosessen. En casestudie ble utført i et forlag.
Funn fra studien viser en tung adopsjonsprosess da systemet ikke fungerte optimalt for hele
organisasjonen. Redaktørene i forlaget unngikk å bruke systemet fordi det ble oppfattet som rigid og
medførte merarbeid, og informasjon i systemet ble ikke kontinuerlig oppdatert. Framfor å endre
prosesser i bedriften, ble systemet skreddersydd for å tilpasses etablerte rutiner. Dette resulterte i
problemer og forsinkelser i prosjektet. Spesielle krav til funksjonalitet for beregning av royalty til
forfattere, ble komplisert for konsulentbedriften å levere, og det gamle systemet kunne ikke utfases da
nødvendig funksjonalitet manglet i ERP-systemet. Studien belyser utfordringer ved implementering av
et ERP-system i en kunnskapsintensiv bedrift og har implikasjoner for praksis.
